Cubic Zirconia heart charms are harder, more brilliant (sparkly), and have more facets than Swarovski Crystal heart charms. Cubic zirconias are an 8 on the Mohs hardness scale while Swarovski Crystal (which is esentially glass) is a 5.5 on the hardness scale. As of fall 2009, we are transitioning from Swarovski Crystal to cubic zirconia hearts. The custom carved and drilled cubic zirconias are more expensive, but we think they're worth it. Because this transition requires us to reprogram our web site and listings on Amazon and EBay, it will not happen all at once. To receive the new cubic zirconia, please make sure the listing you choose specifies that it is a cubic zirconia before ordering.
